macOS

Sign in on Mac, ask in a Thread, read Task proof, and use the Mac as a Computer for local work.

Use the Mac app to keep a Thread in a desktop window and to let Atoi work on the machine in front of you. The records are the same as on the web and in the terminal, but the app can do less with them today.

#1. Arrive and sign in

Open Atoi and sign in. The main window shows your Library records in a desktop layout.

Choose a recent Thread, or start a new one from the compose action.

#2. Ask in a Thread

Write the outcome you want, add context references only when they help, and choose a model and reasoning strength before you send. The Thread shows your message, Atoi's response, and everyone in a group conversation.

Open a universal link such as /c/<thread> to reach the same Thread directly.

#3. Answer an Ask

Read an Ask when it appears in the Thread or in Task proof. Inbox decisions are not in the app yet, so open the same record on the web or in the terminal to approve, deny, or choose an option. Return to the app and the resolved state follows the record.

#4. Watch a Task

Open a Task link from the Thread. A link such as /c/<thread>?task=<task> routes to the Thread with its Task Receipt. Watch the state and read any Ask that is holding the Task.

Starting, cancelling, and continuing a Task are not in the app yet. Use the terminal for those actions.

#5. Read the Receipt

Read Result, Changes, Checks, and Proof in the Task Receipt. Open returned artifacts and note anything still unresolved before you continue the conversation.

#6. Use the Mac as a Computer

Open the Computer controls when you need Atoi to use local files, git, a shell, or a browser window on this machine. Keep the Mac awake and online while the work runs. Computer controls differ by client, so read Computers before you pair the machine.

#7. Share from the web or the terminal

Review the complete Thread, then open it on the web or in the TUI to create a public share. The app shows sharing controls, but public sharing does not work there yet. Test the resulting /share/<share> link signed out before you send it.

#On the Mac today

You can send a message with its attachments and composer options, attach context references, choose a model and a reasoning strength, see who is in a group, and pair the machine as a Computer. You can also read Task proof with Result, Changes, Checks, Proof, Asks, and the lifecycle Receipt.

Not on the Mac yet: Thread and Project management, Inbox decisions, public sharing, reactions, presence, starting or stopping a Task, change-set actions, Channels, Automations, and settings.

#Where it differs

  • Compared with the web, the Mac adds a native window, universal links, and Computer controls, but verifies fewer record actions.
  • Compared with the web, the Mac verifies Task proof but not Task change-set inspection.
  • Compared with iOS, the Mac adds Computer controls for local files, git, a shell, and a browser window.

Read Terminal next for keyboard-first work.
